Lil Nas X continues his chart domination, tying the current record for longest No. 1 streak on Billboard’s Hot 100.
Billboard reports at 16 weeks, Lil Nas X joins the ranks of Mariah Carey who accomplished this feat in 1995 with One Sweet Day and, Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber’s megahit Despacito reaching the 16-week peak in 2017.
If Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ rendition of Old Town Road continues at No. 1 for another week, they set a new record for longest consecutive time in the top spot.
The latest official remix to the infectious tune features guest verses from Young Thug and Mason Ramsey. Two of Lil Nas X’s tracks featured on his debut EP 7 entered Billboard’s Rock charts.
Lil Nas X confidently hopes to break the record, asking fans “what we doing to celebrate the billboard record when we break it yall”
