Days ago, Pierre “P” Thomas of Quality Control Music told fans that a number of new albums were on the way.
“[There is a] new Quavo and Takeoff album [on the way]. Back to business,” he tweeted.
“[There is a] new Lil’ Baby album [on the way]. Back to business,” he added.
This Friday, Quality Control followed through on one of those tweets. Hours after delivering the “Detox” video, Lil’ Baby returned to announce that his next album, It’s Only Me, will be released on October 14, 2022.
“I [know] its been a long time coming, but I’m coming harder And harder,” he wrote on Instagram.
Heading into It’s Only Me, Lil’ Baby is riding high following the completion of his “One of Them Ones” tour with Chris Brown. He also recently debuted Untrapped on Amazon Prime Video. Thus far, the documentary has received rave reviews from critics and fans.
“If you haven’t watched Lil’ Baby’s documentary, I highly recommend you should. It is really a blessing to see young black men go from rags to riches,” one fan tweeted.
“Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby is more contemplative than most of the music documentaries that have dropped in the wake of COVID-related work stoppages, and it provides a wealth of exclusive access and content for the superstar rapper’s ever-growing fanbase,” Johnny Loftus of Decider wrote.
Lil’ Baby is seemingly at the peak of his star power heading into his My Turn follow-up, It’s Only Me. Check out his latest video, “Detox,” below.
