You wanna Sprite. You know you do. Well, if you don’t, LeBron James is going to make sure you eventually will.
Quite possibly the most powerful endorser in the history of the NBA is back with a new series of commercials with his longtime partner, Sprite. While Sprite might have lost naming rights for the Slam Dunk contest, they haven’t lost quite possibly their most important partner in LeBron James.
As the NBA season quickly approaches, NBA players in different commercials will start popping up everywhere. This new ad from LeBron and Sprite comes along with a special guest, rapper Lil Yachty.
Last year, Sprite’s big ad campaign debuted with an ‘Obey Your Thirst’ theme dating back to the company’s inception in 1994. Since then, the company has featured special designs of their bottles with lyrics from Drake, The Notorious B.I.G., Nas, Rakim and this year they did another installment with J.Cole, Missy Elliott, and Tupac. This time around, they’re combining hip-hop and basketball to make quite an eccentric commercial.
While Lil Wayne might not know who Lil Yachty is, being alongside The King might be a good introduction for Wayne and others. Boaty appears in the commercial playing a Sprite song on a piano in a cave made out of Sprite with a silhouette of LeBron James rocking out with him. And that might not even be the weirdest part of this new ad.
