The Ball Family. Interesting enough that is exactly what LaVar Ball‘s sons do. Lonzo Ball, LiAngelo Ball and LaMelo Ball. With Lonzo Ball at UCLA prepping for the big dance, March Madness, and potentially a top 5 draft pick, rightfully so, it is LaVar who makes headlines more than his three sons combined. Maybe a bit exaggeration but you get the point.
Now, this doesn’t take away from their achievements whatsoever, but it does put a light over their every move. With every interview and comment, LaVar Ball continues to make people either say negative or positive things.
Being a father and wanting your sons to strive to be the best, beat the best and be better than the best, how could you fault him for his comments?
Granted, making it known all your sons will be one-and-done or Lonzo Ball is better than Steph Curry, does sound a bit outlandish to say, but he is just providing a lane for his sons to want to achieve all they can. Well, what would be a new interview featuring LaVar Ball, without an off-the-wall comment?
Courtesy of USA Today who interviewed LaVar Ball at his Chino Hills home, several topics were touched on. But it was the comments made by LaVar regarding a sneaker marketing deal that really made me scratch my head. When you really sit and think about it, the break down makes sense. LaVar Ball is willing to package his sons in a deal with either Nike, adidas or Under Armour. Here’s his asking price, $1 Billion or $100 Million a year for 10 years.
Per USA Today;
“A billion dollars, it has to be there,” Ball said. “That’s our number, a billion, straight out of the gate. And you don’t even have to give it to me all up front. Give us $100 mil over 10 years.”
