Former NBA player Lamar Odom is lucky to be alive. In an interview with Kevin Hart on Hart’s YouTube show “Cold as Balls”, Odom brought forth some information regarding his very publicized 2015 drug overdose that resulted in him going into a coma.
Odom explained that, while in the coma, he suffered 12 strokes and six heart attacks. “All my doctors that see me say I’m a walking miracle,” Odom said during the segment, transcribed via Bleacher Report. Needless to say, Odom is lucky to even be sitting in that ice bath.
The 38-year old Odom was found unresponsive in 2015 at a brothel in Nevada. Later tests showed cocaine and opiates in his system, and there were reports that he was having trouble with his heart, kidneys, and lungs. The 12 strokes were actually made public back in 2015, after brain scans discovered the damage.
Odom also collapsed at a nightclub last November, but no issues came from that.
To see Lamar Odom back healthy and reportedly looking to play basketball in China, is nothing short of miracle. He has since become quite the advocate in terms of drug abuse and mental health, and addiction.
