Baltimore Ravens Quarterback Lamar Jackson is not only making moves on the field, but he is also making things happen off of it. BaltimoreRavens.com has reported that Jackson has gained ownership of Tasty’s Soul Food Sports Bar & Grill in his hometown of Pompano Beach, Florida. Moving forward, it appears that the establishment will be known as Play Action Soul Food. In addition, Jackson has trademarked the restaurant’s marketing slogan, “You 8 yet?”
Jackson is best known for his play, bur he has been active in the boardroom as well. Prior to entering the service industry, he launched his own clothing company called Era 8 Apparel. Also, Jackson has invested in the sports tech company, StatusPRO.
As for Jackson’s play on the field, he has recently made headlines for missing out on off-season OTAs. Despite rumors that Jackson may be unhappy with his contract situation, he says that he will be there for his teammates when needed.
“This part of OTAs is voluntary,” he tweeted.
“[There are] probably other [quarterbacks] not attending voluntary OTAs either, but since it’s [me] it’s a huge deal. Fin something else to talk about.”
Jackson and the Ravens are more than three months removed from the first matchup of the regular season. Baltimore will travel down to East Rutherford on September 11, 2022 and take on the New York Jets.
