It looks like Metta World Peace will be one of the last players to fill out the Los Angeles Lakers roster heading into training camp. The former Defensive Player of the Year will be player 19 as the Lakers head into training camp and he’s back for at least one last run in Los Angeles.
World Peace and the Lakers agreed to terms just a few short days before media day.

If Metta is on the Lakers roster come opening night then it could be just another wingman that will help out Lakers rookie Brandon Ingram. The rookie has recently received some advice from NBA Finals MVP Andre Iguodala and has fellow defensive minded wingman Luol Deng on the roster, who is expected to get the start ahead of Ingram.
Metta could be another asset to the Lakers for the second year in a row, not to get some real heavy playing time but instead help guys like Ingram, Larry Nance Jr, Anthony Brown and even Julius Randle continue to develop their skills. He just needs to make the team first and with Kobe Bryant no longer on the squad, it might be a challenge.
