Don’t call it a comeback! Being very close to three years since Gaga’s latest studio album, the past few weeks have been nothing short of a joyous occasion for Lady Gaga and her fans. Launching back onto the Pop scene with her ‘Perfect Illusion‘ single, there’s so much more in store as the singer announced just days ago that her next studio album, Joanne, will be released next month. Now, to make things even more exciting, it is being reported that Lady Gaga can add Super Bowl halftime performer to her list of accomplishments as reports say she’s Super Bowl 51’s chosen act.
If true, this performance slot will be a great outlet to remind the world of just how talented she is. Being one that has never been shy to promote her music, we feel that this is just the beginning of much more to come.
Update: And just like that, the Washington Post confirms that Lady Gaga headlining Super Bowl 51 will not happen, per a statement from the NFL.
Us Weekly “ignored my on the record response,” Natalie Ravitz, senior vice president of communications for the league, tweeted Sunday.
In an email to The Post, she added: “We have had conversations with several fantastic artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, at this point we do not have a final decision. We’re happy there is so much excitement about the show.”
Update #2: In line with her ‘Perfect Illusion’ single, it looks like the denials of Lady Gaga performing at Super Bowl 51’s halftime show were just that. Being officially confirmed from Lady Gaga, NFL, and Pepsi, we can now know who will bring out all the stops for this year’s show.
