Former New York Giants tight end Kyle Rudolph has signed a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With Rob Gronkowski seemingly retired for good this time, the team lacked depth at the position. While his best years were spent with the Minnesota Vikings, the veteran tight end provides depth and experience to a Super Bowl contender. Quarterback Tom Brady is great at getting the best out of players on his way to winning Super Bowls. He may even compete for the starting role this season with Gronkowski gone.

Last season with the New York Giants in a limited role, Kyle Rudolph caught 26 passes for 257 yards and one touchdown on 39 targets. The New York Giants’ offensive scheme was disjointed at the best of times last season and perhaps not the best environment for an older tight end coming off a few injuries. Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a better fit and a chance to compete for a Super Bowl this season.

Kyle Rudolph is in the twilight of his career, but this opportunity provides him a chance to hit a few career milestones and play with legendary quarterback Tom Brady. Winning a Super Bowl would also be a nice addition to his career in its later stages. This could be an ideal match for both sides heading into training camp.
