The San Francisco 49ers may have won against the Arizona Cardinals 28-25 on Thursday Night Football but they lost a key member of their dominant defense. Kwon Alexander injured himself in the third quarter and did not return to the game. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan feared that Alexander might have a pectoral injury. After undergoing an MRI, it was revealed that Alexander tore his pectoral muscle and is out for the season.
With the MRI confirming that his pec is torn, 49ers' LB Kwon Alexander's season is over.

Alexander was second on the 49ers in total tackles through eight games with 34. He also had one interception, one forced fumble and a half sack on the year.
This is a huge loss for the 49ers defense which is one of the best in the league. Alongside the New England Patriots, they are the only teams left undefeated.
Kwon Alexander was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 4th round of the 2015 NFL draft. He played with the Buccaneers for four seasons making the Pro Bowl in 2017. The 49ers signed Alexander to a 4-year $54 million deal earlier this year in March.
Alexander has yet to play a full season since entering the league in 2015. He suffered a season ending torn ACL last season.
