The Wizards found some success this postseason when stretching out the floor, and Kris Humphries is looking towards becoming a stretch forward so he can be more value to the Wizards next season. Ever since Humphries joined Washington, he began to work on more shooting, something he really hadn’t made an effort to do over the course of his career.
Once the postseason came, Humphries fell out of the rotation, and struggled to find any time on the court, but becoming a stretch forward could highly benefit both his playing time and the organization come next season. Without Paul Pierce, the Wizards may not have an offense set to go small, but having a forward who can create more room for Marcin Gortat and Nene inside won’t hurt.

“I never really worked on shooting threes and stuff. I started working on it this year,” said Humphries, a power forward who has a mid-range game and doesn’t play much with his back to the basket on offense. “I had a lot of success in the last month (practicing) or so I really working on it every day, continue to work on it next year, add to my game.”
If Humphries can redefine himself into a three-point shooter, he could find himself turning into another Drew Gooden. Nobody saw Gooden becoming the shooter he was last postseason, and nobody really expects for Humphries to start knocking down shots on a consistent basis, so this surprise will highly benefit the Wizards next season.
