As everybody knows, Kobe Bryant is in the midst of his farewell tour. It’s very entertaining, and he’s been playing much better as of late. He’ll be in the All-Star game, which the fans will thoroughly enjoy. They won’t get to see Kobe play in this year’s Olympics, however. Per Mike Trudell of ESPN Los Angeles:
Kobe just said he's not going to play in the Olympics: "I think it's the young guys' turn to go and play and perform."

Kobe said he wants his final game to be in Lakers purple and gold, which will be against Utah at Staples Center in April, not for Team USA.

Kobe had previously left the door open to playing in Brazil in the Olmypics, but he just shut it. Time for the younger guys to shine.

I think that’s fair. Looking at it purely from a talent standpoint, it’s probably better for Team USA that the young guys play. No disrespect to Kobe, but he’s at this point in his career, he’s nowhere near the level of fringe guys who will make it over him.
As fun as it would be to have one more shot at watching Kobe, that’s what this season is for. Watch Kobe one last time. Enjoy it. The legend is just about finished.
