The New York Knicks shocked everyone by signing restricted free agent Tim Hardaway Jr. to a four-year deal worth $71 million. Now with the Hawks officially choosing not to match his offer, Hardaway is a member of the Knicks for the second time in his career.
Therefore, he can tell you point blank that he also has no idea what the hell the New York Knicks are doing:
Hardaway was "surprised" the Knicks wanted him. Said he's a more "mature" player now

If you’re keeping score at home, the list of people surprised by the Knicks’ decision has grown to include Hardaway, some anonymous members of the organization, and pretty much anyone else with a working knowledge of basketball.
Meanwhile, as one of the team’s highest paid players, Hardaway, Jr. is already declaring that he wants the Knicks to keep Carmelo Anthony amidst talks that he may be traded:
Hardaway wants Melo to remain with the Knicks.

If the Knicks do keep Carmelo on the books, they would be paying huge sums of money to him, Joakim Noah, and Hardaway to put together a very mediocre, if not awful team next season.
Then again, that wouldn’t be a surprise.
