The New York Knicks had a busy offseason this summer. They traded for Derrick Rose and signed Joakim Noah, Courtney Lee, and Brandon Jennings. The transactions have made some wonder out loud if the Knicks are a super team. (Note: only Derrick Rose has actually done this.)
But despite all the moves the Knicks have made, it’s the one they didn’t that will surely make many question the motives. According to Brian Lewis of the New York Daily Post, the Knicks had a chance at a reunion with their former point guard Jeremy Lin. Except they weren’t interested in the newest Brooklyn Net, who is set to be featured in a Hulk comic book:
“If my life was done by what everyone else expected of me, I would’ve been done with playing a long time ago. I don’t really care what anyone else has to say,’’ said Lin, whose struggles on defense left the Knicks uninterested in a reunion, a source told The Post.
Well, this is certainly something.
Either this report is false or the Knicks have a serious issue in their front office. Jeremy Lin is not a defensive superstar by any means, but he’s quite a bit better than Rose and Jennings. If true, the report shows some terrible talent evaluation by the Knicks.
