Golden State still gave Thompson a 5-year $190 million extension, keeping the fan-favorite shooting guard in the Bay. The timeline for his return has not been explicitly said, though it is speculated that December is a possibility. Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle says Thompson’s agent mentions early December as a potential target area.
The earliest Klay Thompson could return from his ACL injury, per his agent's timeline, is early December. FYI: The Warriors are eligible to trade D'Angelo Russell starting Dec. 15.

After losing Kevin Durant to free agency and Klay Thompson to a serious knee injury, the Warriors are in a bind they have not faced for several seasons. In the meantime, while Thompson recovers, Golden State will play out recently-acquired guard D’Angelo Russell alongside Steph Curry. The Warriors are likely to take a conservative approach with Thompson, and not only because they are paying him a substantial amount of money. Dan Feldman from NBC Sports reports that Golden State is expecting Thompson back sometime in February.
