You may recall way back in Halloween when the Cleveland Cavaliers trolled the Warriors for blowing a 3-1 lead with their decorations at LeBron James’ party. If not, let me jog your memory:

Right. Not very subtle.
At the time, the Warriors didn’t give much of a soundbite about the Cavs’ trolling. But with Cavs-Warriors part two coming up soon (this Monday), Klay Thompson is willing to spice things up a bit.
On the latest NBA A to Z Podcast, Thompson took a bit of a shot towards the Cavaliers (transcribed by Gavin Evans of Complex):
“It’s obviously not respectful, so it’s got to be on the other side of the spectrum, so that’s fine with us,” Thompson said. “They can do that childish stuff. It doesn’t matter to us. All we’ve got to do is handle it on the court, you know?”
Here’s the thing. The Cavs laying out tombstones for Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry was probably a bit too much. But other than that, neither team really holds the moral high ground.
The Warriors have annoyed teams and players by being cocky. At the same time, they’ve criticized other teams for celebrating beating them. Something doesn’t add up there.
Nevertheless, I’m all the way here for any extra storylines to accompany this game. The first version of the rematch on Christmas Day was an incredible game already. Imagine how much better it can be if players are hyping themselves up by complaining about Halloween decorations.
