Head Coach Any Enfield and the USC Trojans have landed the commitment of 2022 Top 15 recruit and top two power forward Kijani Wright. He committed to the Trojans over the Arkansas Razorbacks, Texas Longhorns, and Stanford Cardinals. Wright is likely a “one and done” prospect and is ranked as the 5th best recruit to commit to USC in the modern era of college basketball. He trials only O.J. Mayo, Evan Mobley, DeMar DeRozan, and Robert Swift in that regard. This is a major pickup for the Trojans.

Wright had the following to say about why he decided to commit to the USC Trojans: “I felt USC had the best balance between academics and athletics. I also felt their program had the type of environment where I would fit in.” Isaiah Mobley will likely leave for the 2022 NBA Draft after this season and Wright will likely slide right into his starting position in the Fall of 2022. Wright is the sole commit for the Trojans in the 2022 recruiting class for the moment. They will likely add more names to pair with him over the course of the year.

USC has begun to establish its program as one that can get big men drafted in the NBA and high in the NBA Lottery at that. Wright will likely be yet another big man from USC to go in the NBA Lottery. The PAC 12 continues to be a battlefield and bringing in players like this will help them continue to compete for a top spot.
