Five-Star forward Kevin Knox turned down 1.4 million dollars to play basketball next year in China according to his father. Knox who is still uncommitted to a college decided not to jump straight to the pros right out of high school and according to his family it didn’t take much thought.
Kevin Knox is taking full advantage of the NBA declaration deadline to see how different teams will look next year before he makes his choice. The lanky forward was supposedly down to North Carolina, Duke, Kentucky and Florida State, but Missouri has made a late push after Michael Porter Jr. flipped to them from Washington.
Knox and his family have announced that he will make his collegiate decision on April 28th or May 1st. The senior from Tampa has a tough choice to make. Missouri, Duke and North Carolina seem to be the favorites to land the Mcdonald’s All-American, but it’s hard to rule Kentucky or the home state Seminoles out of the process.
Knox makes whatever school he picks a legitimate threat to cut down the nets. Missouri looks to dethrone Kentucky as the king of the SEC with Michael Porter Jr, Blake Harris and hopefully Kevin Knox. Duke and North Carolina want Knox to fill in for Jayson Tatum and Justin Jackson respectively.
Kevin Knox is very likely a “one and done” prospect, so whichever school does land him will want to maximize his potential for the single year that he suits up for them. Knox turning down over one million dollars to instead play college ball is not surprising. His family really wants to attend college as they feel its the best option for him.
Knox will soon make a choice that will impact the rest of his life and several schools are eagerly anticipating him picking them.
