Oscar-winning actor Kevin Costner will reportedly endorse South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg for president. The announcement came shortly after it was reported that Costner would join Buttigieg at a campaign event in Iowa this weekend.
Buttigieg’s Iowa Communications Director Ben Halle said, “We’re excited to have Kevin Costner in Indianola this weekend to help us expand on the broad-based coalition we’re building in Iowa to win the caucuses on February 3rd.”
Costner is expected to introduce the presidential candidate at a town hall in Indianola on Sunday, December 22nd.
The Academy Award is no stranger to politics. Previously, Costner has endorsed Barack Obama’s run for the White House and J. D. Scholten’s run for the House of Representatives.
Not to mention, other actors have also gotten involved on the campaign trail recently. Most recently, Donald Glover signed on as a creative consultant for Andrew Yang’s presidential campaign.
Following Sunday’s expected endorsement, Buttigieg is expected to end his 2019 campaign efforts with a town hall and meet and greet in Iowa.
