French fashion brand Kenzo teamed up with Disney to create a capsule collection inspired by the new live-action adaptation of “The Jungle Book.” This collaboration seems so natural with Kenzo being renowned for their tiger emblem. It turns out that the founder, Kenzo Takada, actually opened a boutique called Jungle Jap earlier on in his career.

Kenzo’s creative director, Carol Lim, expressed how Takada’s earlier designs and the movie inspired the capsule collection.
“The tiger, all the references that he made led us to collaborate with Disney. We looked at the archival drawings of ‘The Jungle Book’ as well as the new imagery and our tiger. We did a beautiful print mixing all these elements together. We put it on beautiful dresses, jackets, denim, jersey, sweatshirts — a bunch of different things.”
You’ll find pieces from the collection covered in the animations from the original “The Jungle Book” movie, mixed with tropical, summer-ready prints. And it’s full of color, which is to be expected from Kenzo. Featured in the collection are a pair of silk shorts, taking cue from the one piece of “clothing” Mowgli wore and tops adorned with Kenzo’s logo and Shere Khan in lieu of the brand’s tiger.
Kenzo’s “The Jungle Book” capsule collection will be available online on Kenzo.com April 7th with the movie hitting theaters April 15th. Shop it now at Kenzo’s store locations, Bergdorf Goodman, and Selfridges.
