George Karl set the NBA world on fire on Thursday as excerpts from his book were leaked. In those excerpts, Karl had some, umm, interesting things to say about former Denver Nuggets players Carmelo Anthony, J.R. Smith, and Kenyon Martin.
As expected, his former players did not take kindly to the maligned coach’s comments. Smith took to Twitter to somewhat subtly express his frustrations.
Martin, however, has never been one to be subtle. The former power forward took to Twitter to unleash a Tweet storm bashing Karl.

The Nerve of an AWFUL AND COWARD ASS COACH. More to come

I didn't have a father going up. We all know that. What's George Karl excuse for being a terrible person
— Kenyon Martin Sr. (@KenyonMartinSr) December 22, 2016
Everyone that's played for that awful person and coach can't stand the ground he walks on

Having a lot of wins doesn't make you a good coach. He was blessed with great talent

Since we were so bad as players. Tell him to forfeit those Denver wins

George Karl is selfish, unhappy, missable,,cowardly person. No wonder he's be fired every place he has coached
— Kenyon Martin Sr. (@KenyonMartinSr) December 22, 2016
The book he is writing is full of lies and deceit. By far the worst coach that ever played for

(Note: HE PLAYED FOR BYRON SCOTT)
Talking bout Melo didn't like defense. Hell he never coached defense. How does that work
— Kenyon Martin Sr. (@KenyonMartinSr) December 22, 2016
Welp.
It’s hard to fault Martin for any of his tweets. Karl was obviously out of line in using Martin and Melo’s tough upbringings and families as a way to prop up his own work. There’s nothing that will cause a head coach to lose respect more quickly and it’s not like this is the first time he has alienated players.
Much respect to Martin for his honesty.
