Shortly before the Labor Day Weekend begins, Kendrick Lamar and Taylour Paige have delivered the “We Cry Together” short film. Directed by Jake Schreier, Dave Free and Kendrick Lamar, the nearly six-minute piece violently depicts chaotic communication, unpredictable patterns of emotion, raw love and verbal abuse. Much like the original track, the visual is both beautifully vulnerable and incredibly tough to watch at times. Through it all, the California duo delivers a showstopping performance.
“We Cry Together” sets the stage for the latest portion of Kendrick Lamar’s ongoing “Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers” tour. Tonight, Kendrick Lamar is set to perform alongside Tanna Leone and Baby Keem in Oakland, California. Later this month, the trio will stop in Anaheim, Las Vegas, San Diego, Phoenix, Ontario and Los Angeles before heading overseas. Following the conclusion of his world tour, the critically acclaimed artist is set to work on a film with the creators of South Park.
Meanwhile, Paige’s appearance in the “We Cry Together” video has capped off a strong week for the talented actress. She has recently completed filming The Toxic Avenger, Brothers and The Trainer. Paige is currently working on Magazine Dreams and Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley alongside the legendary Eddie Murphy.
While Paige and Lamar continue to jet-set around the entertainment world, check out their performances in the “We Cry Together” short film together.
