Kendrick Lamar Reveals Album Title And Cover | Def Pen

In early hours of Wednesday morning, Kendrick Lamar took to Instagram to share not only the cover of his much anticipated album, but also the album’s title. Kendrick Lamar’s 2nd studio album will be titled, To Pimp A Butterfly. As if the title wasn’t intriguing or thought provoking enough, the cover makes an even more prominent and bolder statement.

Over the course of the evening there were many discussions in regards to what the title and album cover could signify.While many are up in the air as to what To Pimp A Butterfly means, it can be strongly inferred that the provoking album-art symbolizes an aspect of “slaves” receiving their reparations. The dead judge on the ground helps makes that perspective of the cover even more believable. With such a powerful message, it’s only certain that the album will very similar to the imagery we’ve seen thus far. With that, the anticipation for Kendrick’s new project is at an all-time high. You can pre-order the album on iTunes and it will be in stores on March 23th.
