The Kentucky Wildcats have landed a very important piece for their team next season. Davidson guard Kellan Grady transfers to Lexington to continue his playing career. After Grady’s season ended in the NIT First Round this season, he entered the transfer portal. Grady joined the 2,000 point club in his time under Coach Bob McKillop. At 6-foot-5 his size he is a bigger guard who will be floating on the wing looking for threes and drives.
Grady was one of the most valued transfers on the market and Kentucky landed him just about a week after announcing his move. Over the course of this season, he averaged 17.1 points along with 4.6 rebounds. He finished the year shooting 38.2% from three.

Coach Calipari’s remarks show how excited the program is to bring Grady in. Cal said, “His size, his skills, his scoring ability, and his playmaking ability speak volumes to the player that he is.” Coach Cal also had this to say:
“Kellan has established himself as one of the best players in the country.”
Over the course of four years at Davidson, Grady started every season. In his freshman and junior seasons, he earned second-team All-A10 honors while in his sophomore and senior seasons he was given first-team honors.
For the Kentucky Wildcats and Coach Cal, this is a huge stepping stone to the next season. This season the Cats had their worst result in over a century. Finishing with a 9-16 record, some players have announced while others are staying. Kentucky doesn’t isn’t done in the transfer market either and will snag more during the offseason. West Virginia transfer Oscar Tshiebwe has been in Lexington since January.
