Long gone are the days of the child star that we all appreciated in “Akeelah and the Bee.” Still showing off her acting chops, most recently in Fox’s “Scream Queens,” Keke Palmer has showed the world that she’s all grown up. One to never find herself in the spotlight for all of the wrong reasons, Keke has took to her music to show the grown and sexy side that many have not seen from the actress and singer. The first taste of this comes in form of her brand new single, ‘I Don’t Belong To You.’
Produced by London On Da Track, ‘I Don’t Belong To You’ sees Keke going down the lines of sensual R&B, that compliments her voice very well. Accompanied by a black and white visual that hosts cameos from “Power” actor and G-Unit signee, Rotimi, and singer/model, Cassie, the visual features a surprising twist that just may shock viewers. Singing, “Don’t you act innocent, you own the part that you play,” Keke smoothly sings over the synth and bass-driven record and proclaims that that she’s more than ready to move on from her lover. Much different from her previous offerings, ‘I Don’t Belong To You’ is a good look for Keke Palmer as she tries to expand her musical audience while still holding true to her style.
