Head Coach Rick Stansbury and the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers have received the commitment of Cincinnati Bearcat’s senior transfer guard Keith Williams. He will utilize a fifth year of eligibility granted to him due to the NCAA rule from last year granting a special COVID-19 waiver for an extra year of eligibility. This adds a quality starter and serious experience to a Hilltoppers team that wants to make the 2022 NCAA Tournament. The team has had some injury setbacks but has the experience to compete for a Tournament appearance.
Cincinnati transfer Keith Williams has committed to Western Kentucky, per release. Significant Conference-USA news. Williams averaged 14.3 PPG and 4.1 RPG last season.

Williams decided to leave Cincinnati for his “super senior” year and playing for Head Coach Rick Stansbury is never a bad idea. In his senior season with the Bearcats, Keith Williams averaged 14.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 39.8 percent and a three-point percentage of 31.3 percent. His points per game went up from his junior season, but his field goal percentage went down in his fourth season.

Keith Williams is listed at 6’5″ and 215 pounds which is an ideal size for the starting shooting guard position in the NCAA. He will also be a good one-year mentor for the Hilltoppers 2021 four-star guard recruit Zion Harmon. Williams has one more year to prove he is ready to play professional basketball if he has that desire. It is likely the NBA G League or somewhere overseas could be an ideal fit for the new Western Kentucky Hilltoppers’ gaurd.
