After spending the first nine years of his career with the Houston Texans, cornerback Kareem Jackson has decided to move on. Jackson, 30, has elected to join the Denver Broncos in their pursuits of returning to the postseason.
Jackson is reportedly getting a three-year, $33 million deal to be the number two corner lining up opposite of All-Pro Chris Harris Jr.
Troy Renck of ABC Denver 7 and Adam Schefter of ESPN have more information on Jackson’s deal.
#Broncos had to get No. 2 corner. Kareem Jackson played well last year in Houston. Of course price tag is high, but 3-year, $33 million is going rate for starting corner. #Denver7

Denver made a big splash earlier this offseason by trading for Joe Flacco in an effort to solidify their offense. Jackson can help provide some consistency in their secondary.
Jackson was moved around in the Texans defense last season after primarily playing cornerback through his career. He was shifted to safety and defensive back but ultimately it wasn’t going to be a solution that worked for Jackson unless Houston met Denver with the contract.
In his nine seasons with Houston Jackson proved to be a consistent player at cornerback. He’s played at least 12 games in every season of his career, recorded a total of 16 career interceptions, 88 passed deflected, six forced fumbles and an average of 62 tackles per season.
