Perhaps the most coveted award of the VMAs night, besides Video of the Year, is the Video Vanguard Award. In short, the Video Vanguard Award celebrates an artist’s contribution to the arts, with a focus on the visual aspects of his or her’s artistry. Some of past recipients of the award are Michael Jackson, Madonna, LL Cool J, Beyonce, and plenty of others. Now, we can add the one and only Kanye West to the list as it has been announced that the rapper will receive the award come Sunday night, August 30th.
