For the past six weeks, there is nobody that has been in the spotlight more than Kanye West. Mr. West started the month of May with an outrageous sit down with TMZ‘s Harvey Levin and an in depth interview with Charlamagne Tha God. From there, Kanye trolled the world with “Lift Yourself” and produced a back and forth conversation with T.I. on “Ye vs. The People”. At the end of May, he produced all seven tracks of Pusha T’s Daytona, caught some stray bullets from Drake during his beef with Pusha T and gave Travis Scott a verse for his new single, “Watch“. Over the past weeks, Kanye has released a number one album and held a listening session for his collab album with Kid Cudi. Today, Kanye continued his run of musical releases with the Quavo and Lil Yachty assisted “Face Down”.
The three minute auto-tune anthem leaked on to the internet early this weekend and has been making its way around the internet for the past twenty four hours. Kanye kicks off the auto-tune filled track by asking, “Why do all bad girls keep their phones face down?/Bad girls always keep their phone face down/I love you when you’re face down.” From there Quavo picks up the track and then passes it off to Yachty who raps, “I’ll never trip over you/There’s more fish in the sea/Soon you’ll see/You’re the one who needs me.”
It’s unclear whether or not this was a loose track from Kanye’s original Ye album or if it is an unfinished version of an upcoming single. Regardless of what it was, here is some new Kanye to hold you over until Kids See Ghosts becomes available on streaming platforms.
