(Exclusive Coverage) Jay-Z performs at Yankee Stadium on September 13, 2010 in New York, New York.

Less than a week until one of the music industry’s biggest night, the Billboard Music Awards, fans and stans alike are eagerly awaiting if their favorite artists will make the list of performers for the night. Celebrating some of the music industries most popular records and albums over the course of the last year, just as any music award show, live renditions of those hits, along with new music, is often the most anticipated things of the night. With that being said, as performances are still being announced, Billboard has confirmed that Kanye West and Nicki Minaj will be among the performers for Sunday evening’s show.

Nicki Minaj will be performing her new single “The Night Is Still Young” and Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs No. 1 hit “Hey Mama,” featuring David Guetta.

And while performing is an honor itself, Kanye West will have an even bigger honor of closing out the Billboard Music Awards.

Billboard and Dick Clark productions announced today superstar Kanye West will close this year’s Billboard Music Awards. Recognized worldwide as one of the great live performers of his generation, this will mark Kanye’s first ever performance on the BBMA stage.

This is both a great move for Nicki Minaj and Kanye West. Nicki has ‘Hey Mama’ and ‘The Night Is Still Young’ simultaneously blazing up the Top 40/Pop charts and with the performance of both tracks, there’s a great chance she could have the song(s) of the summer on her hands. Hip-Hop fans are always thirsty for new Kanye and while we have ‘All Day’ as the official first single from his new album, Swish, Kanye is never predictable and could very well debut new material at the show. Other performers for the show include Wiz Khalifa, Charlie Puth, Imagine Dragons, Britney Spears, Iggy Azalea and others. Be sure to tune into the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 17th, at 8/7c on ABC.
