The sun is shining, the Yankees are winning, the Eastern Conference Finals kick off on Wednesday, May 21, and above all else, the rappers are rapping. It feels like summer in New York and Kai Ca$h in the spirit!
Days ago, Reason asked Joey Bada$$, “[You are] the sacrificial lamb. [You are] the soloist with no band members. [You are] Joey Kaepernick, [So], nobody gon’ take a stand with you?” A few days later, we have an answer. Kai Ca$h has hopped in the ongoing back-and-forth between New York and Los Angeles-based MCs with a new track called Kai Ca$h aimed at Ray Vaughn, Reason, and a few other MCs.
“Never needed reasoning/Just needed someone eager for it/Simple ray of joy/Gon make it feel a bit appeasing/Missed the Dot and wound up pregnant with all that riding,” he rapped.
“It’s time to put the game on, [but] stay warned. We could turn Ray Vaughn into Trayvon [Martin] and go without conviction,” he added.
Not only did Kai Ca$h send shots at artists on the West Coast, but he was also critical of the Hip-Hop scene in his hometown.
“To the n—s back home, let’s get it together. The bars are back. The waves and trends are deaded. We can’t do drill forever. The radio needs to show more respect. It’s lyrical n—s that’s better and don’t get the recognition they deserve,” he declared.
With Loaded Lux teaming up with Joey Bada$$ and Kai Ca$h hopping in the battle, this lyrical back-and-forth is heating up by the hour. Who’s next?
