The New York Giants have traded wide receiver Kadarius Toney to the Kansas City Cheifs for a third-round draft pick and a sixth-round draft pick. Toney is in his second NFL year and found himself rarely used on a roster starved for wide receiver production. It seemed that the team decided he was not a part of their rebuild this season. Kansas City is a Super Bowl contender this season and spends some draft capital to add a speedy weapon for Patrick Mahomes to throw the ball to. A trade that gives both teams what they need moving forward.

This season with the New York Giants Kadarius Toney has hardly played and has been a non-factor. Last season as a rookie on the team he caught 39 passes for 420 yards and zero touchdowns on 57 targets. He also rushed the ball three times for six yards. It felt like from almost the beginning Toney and the New York Giants did not mesh well together. The team selected him with the 20th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, but now send him to Kansas City for just a third and a sixth less than two years later. Kadarius Toney will look to start fresh with his new team this year.
