The New York Knicks were dealt a death-blow in the eyes of some Knicks fans. They were the lone team in the 2015 NBA Draft lottery to move down from any position and unfortunately for them, they fell from possibly having the second pick to being locked into the fourth pick, switching with the Los Angeles Lakers. At four, there are a few options for New York and one of them could be taking a versatile wing player out of Duke, Justise Winslow.
When the Knicks dropped to four, there were rumors aplenty of the team possibly trading the pick, selecting a player from overseas in Kristaps Porzingis or even reaching for a player projected to go later in the draft like Trey Lyles out of Kentucky. Now it appears that the Knicks are going to be focusing their interest towards another player.

Winslow at four could be a great pick for New York, if they already didn’t have Carmelo Anthony or Tim Hardaway Jr in the fold. This workout could be for multiple reasons in the organization. Giving a kid a chance to workout for some scouts and get some real criticism, maybe to share their knowledge with other teams that might be interested or because the team actually likes him. As we’ve seen in the past, just because a team selects a player, doesn’t mean he’s assured to be with that team.
Winslow is a great player without a doubt and the Knicks have expressed their interest in him previously. He’s a fantastic defender, has great IQ of the game and he can score when needed. His jumpshot might be questionable at times but he is very athletic and that makes up for some deficiencies on the offensive end. Justise would be a great pick for most teams, except for the Knicks unless they find a way to make a package around Winslow and another guard for a big man. Jose Calderon, you might be moving around very soon.
