It looks like Justin Bieber’s marketing team is taking things just as serious as the singer has been taking his music over the past year. Gearing up to release his fourth studio album, Purpose, on November 13th, even as the holiday season approaches, there’s no doubt that many artists are looking into traditional and new ways to market their releases to the general public. Looking to do something different, Justin Bieber is teaming up with Lyft transportation services to kick off the release of his brand new album.
What do we mean? To get your copy of Purpose for just $5, all you have to do is slide into ‘Bieber Mode’ in the Lyft app between 9 p.m. PST 11/12 and 11:59 p.m. PST 11/19 while supplies last and tap ‘Buy & Ride.’ Then, after you finish at least a $5 ride, we’ll send you a unique download link and credit your account $5 for your next ride.
The partnership serves as a benefit to both parties as it offers Bieber fans an opportunity to access and listen to the album ahead of its release, while Lyft equally has the opportunity to expand and service potential new customers. With services like Lyft and Uber rapidly on the rise, it’ll come as no surprise if this type of marketing tactic will soon become the norm. We can add this move as another timely and effect strategy to Bieber’s Purpose campaign. If you’re not looking to take a ride, the album will be in stores on November 13th.
