Last week, on November 13th, we saw the release of Justin Bieber’s latest album, Purpose. Met with high anticipation from critics and fans alike, Bieber was put in the hot seat to deliver a great body of work after over 3 years since the release of his previous LP. With his release coinciding with another Pop dominating force known as One Direction, the race for the number 1 spot on next week’s Billboard Top 200 was already deemed a tight race before their albums even saw their release. Embarking in interesting and perhaps innovative marketing tactics, the top spot among Billboard’s album chart is definitely a spot Justin wants to hold. Now, as early reads are in by HitsDailyDouble, it’s looking like Justin Bieber will come off as victorious as the singer is projected to sell 425k – 450k purchased units and a potential overall total of 475k – 500k, which includes streaming numbers. One Direction’s Made in the A.M. isn’t too far behind with overall numbers looking to be in the ball park of 450k – 475k. Nevertheless, it makes for a stressful race for fans of the two as they want their favorite to come out on top. With a few more days left in the tracking week, we’ll get officially numbers next week. As for now, it’s time for the fans to do their part and purchase and stream their lives away.
