Yesterday, Warner Bros. unveiled the first official teaser for their highly anticipated film, Just Mercy. While the teaser gave fans a first look at the film, the teaser only shared approximately twenty seconds of footage. Today, Warner Bros. followed up the teaser with the release of the film’s official trailer.
As described, Just Mercy “follows young lawyer Bryan Stevenson and his history-making battle for justice.” In the trailer, we get our first glimpses of Michael B. Jordan’s portrayal of Stevenson as he battles for the freedom of Walter McMillian played by Jamie Foxx. In one scene, we get to see Jordan’s first interaction with Foxx in a state penitentiary as he is overcome with frustration.
Alongside Foxx and Jordan, the film also stars Mudbound‘s Rob Morgan, Straight Outta Compton‘s O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Wormwood‘s Tim Blake Nelson. The Blind Side‘s Gil Netter, Short Term 12’s Asher Goldstein and Jordan will serve as the film’s producers. The film’s main subject, Bryan Stevenson, will also serve as one of the movie’s executive producers.
Check out the full trailer above and prepare for the film’s release in December.
