
Jurnee Smollett has joined the cast of Netflix’s upcoming thriller, Lou. In her new project, Smollet will star alongside Allison Janney.
Directed by Anna Foerster of HBO’s Westworld, the story centers around a woman looking for answers after her daughter is kidnapped. To find her daughter, the woman in question teams up with her mysterious next-door neighbor. Along the way, the duo will uncover secrets, deal with shocking truths and test their internal limits.
Smollett is best known for her role in The Great Debaters. She also starred in Underground, Birds of Prey and True Blood. Smollett currently stars in Lovecraft County on HBO.
Janney has starred in a number of films including Hairspray, June and The Help. Moving forward, she is set to star in Lou, The Heart and To Leslie.
J.J. Abrams, Jon Cohen and Hannah Minghella will produce the film. Also, Janney, Smollett and Lindsey Weber will work as executive producers. At this time, Netflix has not shared any further details regarding the film’s release and other cast members. Stay tuned for more details involving this promising series.
