The color way that started it all, the Jordan Spizike OG is making its way back. The first initial release for this color way saw a very limited drop but this time around things will be of that magnitude but they will be somewhat obtainable. Paying tribute to Spike Lee, a classic can never go out of style especially when revisited but as long as things are done correctly. By the looks this one is no different.
Below is some release details from the folks at Foot Locker as well as some detailed pictures. Take a look at the information below and let us know if they are a DEF Cop or DEF Not. There’s word that there will be roughly about 29,000 pairs, so yeah you be the judge.
In October 2006, Jordan Brand unleashed one of its most successful Retro hybrids to date onto the sneaker world in the form of the Spizike – a nod to the Retro models that Spike Lee helped to endorse. Combining elements of the Air Jordan III, IV, V, VI, and XX, the Spizike will return in its original White/Cement Grey-Classic Green-Varsity Red colorway on Saturday, August 9th. The shoes upper is mostly smooth white leather with cement elephant print on the heel and red elephant print on the toe. Red accents can also be found on the midsole and Jordan branding. Classic green accents can be found on a stylized sock liner as well as the graphics on the heel. The OG Spizike features a nod to Spike on the left heel in the form of his Mars Blackmon character and the right heel in the form of his 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks production company’s logo.
The Jordan Spizike OG will drop on Saturday, August 9th at House of Hoops by Foot Locker and Footlocker.com (starting at 8:00 a.m. EDT) for $175. Check the Launch Locator to see which stores will have this release.
