Jordan Clarkson is reportedly once again on the move. After finding himself traded as part of the deal that sent Isaiah Thomas to the Los Angeles Lakers for a short period, Clarkson’s stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers has come to a close. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Clarkson will be sent to the Utah Jazz in exchange for Dante Exum and two second-round picks.
Utah will also send two future second round picks to Cleveland in the trade, sources tell ESPN. https://t.co/mQBTD8h26k

Jordan Clarkson is on expiring contract with a $13.4M cap hit. Dante Exum has two years left at $9.6M per year. Cleveland will create a $3.83M trade exception and will also go from $1.3M to $5.1M below the luxury tax.

Dante Exum, the Australian international who was selected fifth in the 2014 NBA Draft, has yet to live up to his projected potential in the NBA, averaging 2.2 points per game for the Jazz in 11 appearances this season. In acquiring Clarkson, who has been averaging 14.7 points per game in the course of 29 games for Cavs, the Jazz are attempting to mitigate some of the issues caused by Mike Conley missing time due to injuries that he’s dealt with since he was traded from the Memphis Grizzlies in June.
The Utah Jazz will hope that the addition of Jordan Clarkson will aid them in improving upon their 18-11 record, good for only sixth in the Western Conference, while the Cavs continue to stockpile assets throughout their rebuild with a current record of 8-21.
