Jordan Bohannon has decided to get surgery on his left hip and medically redshirt this season. Bohannon had surgery on his right hip this past offseason and rehabbed his way back for the beginning of the season. Not too far after did pain in his left hip appear where doctors told he would ultimately need surgery on that one as well.
Bohannon initially believed he could play through the pain this season but soon realized it would be unwise. He was unable to carry consistent performances from one game to the other and after ten games decided to sit out the rest of this season.

Bohannon played in the 10 game maximum before deciding to shut it down for the season. His last game, versus rival Iowa State, was actually supposed to be his 11th game before he sat one out to make sure it was his last. The upset win on Iowa State’s court gave Bohannon a 3-1 record versus his rival. He then left his game shoes on the Cyclones court after signing them.
Some are wondering whether Bohannon ultimately could grad transfer in the offseason once healthy. He is expected to graduate this year and could theoretically move on. His love for the university and the way he is revered by the fans point to it being unlikely. If he does decide to play elsewhere next year he will be highly coveted by just about everyone.
