A wise person once said, “It is important to find comfort in uncomfortable moments.” In our personal lives, confronting friends about their toxic behavior can make us feel uneasy. However, it always pays off in the long run. In our professional pursuits, it can be frightening to assert ourselves and let others know what we were trying to achieve in our careers. With that said, being open and honest can often lead to better results in the long run. In the world of art and entertainment, pushing through those uncomfortable moments can result in beautiful songs, portraits, photos, films and books. Over the weekend, Toronto native Jon Vinyl leaned into the discomfort of a bad breakup and his fans were rewarded.
Revisiting a tough breakup is never easy, but it’s definitely therapeutic. In his latest single, “Don’t Care,” Jon Vinyl lets the listener in as he revisits all of those uncomfortable moments. Along the way, his soulful voice narrates a tale of a man who feels he did all that he could do to make a relationship work and it still wasn’t enough.
“‘Don’t Care’ is a summary of my venture through an uncomfortable breakup.
My last project, Lost In You centered around the ups and downs of trying to please my girl and all the work I had put into making things work. After all the trials and tribulations we endured, we decided to end the relationship and go our separate ways,” Jon Vinyl said about his new single.
“I’m sure – after hearing this new track – you can see that I’m clearly struggling to cope with my emotions, but I feel like she’s too far gone and doesn’t care.”
With Valentine’s Day coming up, “Don’t Care” is a perfect reminder that February 14 is not a celebration for everyone. Some of us are truly going through it and Jon Vinyl captures that emotion in a truly honest manner. Check out the Toronto native’s newest single below as he prepares to share the video later this week.
