The federal lawmaker holding the title of “Speaker of the House” may have changed, but the plan remains the same. Speaker Mike Johnson claims that it is “very likely” that President Joe Biden committed impeachable offenses and will continue with an inquiry into the President’s administration and actions.
In September, former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy opened an impeachment inquiry into the President and indicated that Biden’s son, Hunter, would be subpoenaed. After taking over for McCarthy, Speaker Mike Johnson said that he also intends to have Hunter Biden subpoenaed.
“I think the American people are owed these answers, and I think our suspicions about all this, the evidence that we’ve gathered so far, as you know, is affirming what many of us fear what may be the worst,” Johnson said.
Johnson not only intends to continue with the impeachment inquiry, but he has also alleged that the President is experiencing a “cognitive decline.”
“That’s reality. It’s not a personal slight to him, it has to do with age and acumen, and everyone’s different. Everyone ages differently,” Johnson said.
“Clearly, if you look at a tape of Joe Biden making an argument in the Senate Judiciary Committee a few years ago, and you see a speech that he delivers now, there’s a difference.”
