When you’re playing a home game against the Los Angeles Lakers this season, good luck getting your usual home love. If the Lakers are around, that means Kobe Bryant is in town and that means his crazy hoard of fans are following him on his retirement tour.
Where Kobe goes, crazy Lakers fans go, especially considering it’s the great guards final game against the Washington Wizards in the nation’s capital.
One thing that any player should not expect is getting booed at home. Let alone when your name is John Wall playing at home in Washington. But that’s apparently what happened and it actually upset Wall’s mom.
Following from Erin Hawksworth of ABC 7 in Washington D.C.
I just saw John Wall's mom crying after the game. I can't believe how fans boo him here. #wizards

This isn't the first time the Wizards have been boo'd at home. It's been an issue this season. https://t.co/aPqwug6pOE

In defense of the Wizards fans, they were probably getting outnumbered by the hoards of Lakers fans who were in attendance.
Just listen to the crowd go nuts after Kobe hit a huge three down the stretch.
Listen to the crowd ERUPT after Kobe Bryant hits a big 3 on the road.

But according to the report, this isn’t the first time Wall was booed at home. This isn’t a great thing that the Wizards have to deal with right now. Wall is already beating himself up over the slow start that Washington is having this season and while he’s performed extremely well as of late, it still isn’t enough in the eyes of some. John Wall was getting booed during a 34 point, 11 assist and 7 rebound performance.
John Wall is a franchise player and bottomline, franchise players should not be getting booed. He’s doing all he can out on the court and Wall is trying to make a difference for a franchise who didn’t have much to cheer about before his arrival.
