John Wall had the honor of being named to the NBA’s 2nd team all defense, but he missed out on being named to any of the three All-NBA teams. Although many consider this a snub, Wall is going to have many more opportunities to receive honors such as these, and will earn many higher honors as well.
For every first place vote, a player received two points, and for every second place vote, the player would receive a single point. Wall finished 62 points behind Kyrie Irving (112 points) and 72 points behind Klay Thompson (122 points). These players are also very deserving of the honors, but it’s hard to think Wall wasn’t closer towards receiving the honors than what are shown by the results.
With the season over for Wall’s Wizards, he will have some extra time to rest and improve his game to ensure this snub doesn’t happen next season. Next season, the Wizards will for sure have a player or two represented on this list.
