Though Washington Wizards guard John Wall can’t make much of an impact on the basketball court due to his season-ending injury, that isn’t stopping him from still assisting others in the Washington DC community.
According to an Instagram post from Wall, he and his John Wall Family Foundation plan to lend a helping hand to local workers in need due to the recent government shutdown. Wall’s post says he and his foundation will hand out gift cards from the popular supermarket, Giant.
While the government remains shut down in President Donald Trump’s pursuit of a wall on the border between the United States and Mexico, a large portion of federal employees have suffered as a result. John Wall is doing a commendable job providing those in need with some valuable extra financial support for groceries and other requisite items during these trying times.
Wall will hold his gift card giveaway in Northwest Washington DC, within close proximity of the Wizards’ Capital One Arena. Wall has been sidelined since late December after deciding to undergo season-ending heel surgery but should be ready to go for the start of next season.
