John Wall and the Washington Wizards have had an eventful start to the season, and not in a good way. The in-house fighting, the trade speculation of Wall and shooting guard Bradley Beal, and the injury to starting center Dwight Howard have all happened in around 20 games. They have also been getting crushed by teams, including a 123-98 thumping at the hands of the Philadelphia 76ers.
The blame game is a popular pastime for the Wizards, and this instance is no different. This time, it is the referees. Wall did not hold back in answering postgame questions. Via Ben Standig of NBC Sports Washington:
“I have nothing to say to them. I have no respect for them. Simple as that. I get the same excuse every time,” said Wall. “Just cause I’m stronger than everybody I don’t get those calls. I have no respect for them. They do their job. I do my job. I have nothing to say about them or nothing nice to say toward them.”
Wall picked up his sixth technical of the season against the Sixers, putting him one behind Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond for the most in the league.
