John Krasinski and Ryan Reynolds are getting friendly. According to Variety, the actors are in talks to join Paramount’s Imaginary Friends. If the deal is finalized, Krasinski will pull quadruple duty writing, directing, producing, and starring alongside Reynolds.
Sony and Lionsgate were part of a bidding war for the film that Paramount ultimately won. And, though details are still light, the plot would revolve around a man who can interact with people’s imaginary friends. The main conflict of the film will stem from abandoned imaginary friends who turn evil to get back at their creators.
If the deal goes through, it’d be the latest big-time team up for Reynolds. Late last month rumors emerged that he and Jason Bateman could star in a remake of the cult classic Clue. And, he’s also set to star alongside Will Ferrell in a live-action musical version of Charles Dickens’ classic, A Christmas Carol for Apple. Krasinski’s staying pretty busy too as he just recently finished filming on A Quiet Place: Part II, which is due out in March. However, before that, you can catch in the second season of Jack Ryan when it hits Amazon Prime Video on November 1st.
Imaginary Friends has yet to receive a release date.
