John Boyega and Darren Criss are set to star in the upcoming iHeartMedia podcast, There Be Monsters. Boyega will play the role of Jack Locke, a hero looking to hack a Silicon Valley startup with evolutionary body hacking technology. Meanwhile, Criss will play the CEO of that mysterious Silicon Valley startup.
Alongside Boyega and Criss, Marley Shelton, Clark Gregg and Sahr Ngaujah will star in the series. Dan Bush will direct and write the series with Boyega also serving as a producer.
The podcast is currently being recorded during the pandemic in remote locations. Each of the actors received a “studio in a box” with a microphone and other equipment. Together, the cast and producers recorded 400 pages of material over the course of two weeks.
“The process to develop this scripted show and the ability to capture the connection, emotions and overall dynamic between the cast members while recording remotely, from across the globe, was unlike anything I’ve ever seen,” iHeartMedia Podcast Network President Conal Byrne said.
“I’m thrilled it all came together and hope audiences are just as drawn in as I was to this sci-fi thriller series,” Boyega added.
There is no release date for the podcast as of yet.
