Following their wild-card playoff win against the Miami Dolphins, some of the Pittsburgh Steelers celebrated in downtown Pittsburgh. One of them was outside linebacker coach Joey Porter. Porter, who has a history of getting into trouble, was arrested five hours after defeating the Miami Dolphins. He was arrested for an altercation with the bouncer, security guards, and assaulting a police officer while resisting arrest.
Following according to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Once the officer arrived on the scene, the officer stopped the assault and arrested the 39-year-old Mr. Porter.
He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail and was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
He was released early this morning after posting $25,000 bond, according to court records. He is scheduled to appear in City Court, Downtown on Jan. 19 for a preliminary hearing.
According to witnesses, Mr. Porter had been asked to leave the establishment several times and did not, and police were called to assist and the dispute moved onto the sidewalk.
Craig Johnston, of the South Side, was walking home when the scene unfolded in front of him.
He said that Mr. Porter and a Pittsburgh police officer argued, with Mr. Porter repeatedly saying “I didn’t put my hands on him.”

Porter was released earlier this morning on $25,000 bond, and his court hearing for Mr. Porter is set for January 19th, according to Pro Football Talk.
The Steelers have commented about this subject in which they chose not to comment any further until they have all of the details of the situation. The league is bound to start an internal investigation soon to determine if Porter violated personal conduct policy that both players and coaches have to follow.
Ian Rappoport of NFL Network reports that the Steelers have placed Porter on leave.
