At this point in his NBA career, Joel Embiid is somewhat of an urban legend. Drafted third overall two years ago, the Philadelphia 76ers center has not stepped on a basketball court since, having dealt with injuries that entire time. The big man has already been labeled a bust by many as there is doubt whether he can shake off the injury prone label to become a real contributor or star.
Embiid, however, seems ready to shake that all off as the Kansas product is, in his own words, “finally healthy.”
It has been a long road to recovery for Embiid, and it has not been without controversy. There have been rumors about the center’s dismissal of team requests and his refusal to rehab correctly and work hard enough to come back from his injuries. Nevertheless, it was becoming more and more clear in the past few weeks that he was expected to play next season and he is now confirming that fact.
On top of his on-court contributions to the Sixers, Embiid seems to want to help them off the court by recruiting superstars to join him in Philadelphia.
Following the Oklahoma City Thunder’s game seven loss to the Golden State Warriors, Embiid decided to shoot his shot:
Time to RECRUIT KD to the Sixers??????

We Almost got Lebron 2 years ago

It’s nice of Joel to try but something tells me Kevin Durant is not leaving OKC to go to a 10-win 76ers team.
Nevertheless, it is good to see Joel Embiid in good spirits and barring unforeseen circumstances we will finally get to see the big man on the basketball court. There are many questions about Embiid and his teammates regarding the fit and overall skill level, but the Sixers will begin to answer these questions soon.
